Temporary chef cover for days, weeks or a whole season
Seasonal peaks, refurbishments, new openings and long-term vacancies you have not yet filled. Temporary chefs on Zolt’s payroll, placed for as long as you need them.
When temporary cover beats recruiting
A seasonal hotel that doubles its covers from Easter to October, a restaurant waiting for a new head chef to serve notice, a care home with a cook on long-term sick leave, or a venue that wants to try a chef before offering a permanent role. In each case a temporary chef on Zolt’s payroll gives you the hours without the hiring risk.
Seasonal and multi-week placements
For placements of a week or more we agree the pattern of shifts, the responsibilities and the rate up front and confirm them in writing. Accommodation can be arranged for chefs working away from home, which is how we keep coastal and rural kitchens staffed through the season. A weekly review call keeps both sides aligned.
Temp to permanent
If a temporary chef turns out to be the person you want permanently, tell us. We agree a transfer fee that reflects the hours already worked, and the chef moves onto your payroll with the paperwork handled.
One invoice, no surprises
Temporary chefs are employed and paid by Zolt. Hours are signed off by your kitchen each shift and invoiced weekly at the rate confirmed in writing. No registration fee, no minimum term, no charge for a chef you did not book.

Questions venues ask us
What is the minimum booking?
Six hours per chef, per shift. There is no minimum number of shifts or weeks: one six-hour shift is a booking.
Can you cover a whole season at a coastal hotel?
Yes. Seasonal placements with accommodation are a core part of what we do, particularly for hotels on the coast and in rural areas.
What notice do you need?
For single shifts, ring the booking line and we will tell you what is available. For placements of a week or more, a few days’ notice lets us match the right chef and arrange accommodation.
Need a chef this week?
Send the shift details or speak to a chef on the 24/7 booking line.
